Really, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, but, sadly, 10 tourists were killed in the remote region of Northern Pakistan.

According to ABC News, a dozen Pakistanis were dressed up as police officers murdered 10 tourists, who were exploring the Himalayas. Pakistan is known for some spectacular views. It is also known for harboring terrorists and a local Taliban group took credit for the killings.

The group was killed at the base camp of Nanga Parbat, the ninth largest mountain in the world at over 26,000 feet.

According to reports, the Taliban killed the tourists in retaliation to continued U.S. drone attacks, which recently led to the death of high ranking Taliban leader.

The Pakistani government issued a statement that it would continue to attempt to make Pakistan safe for travelers, but the Taliban strike against tourists suggests it is losing that effort.

Our advice, find a different mountain for the time being.
